In addition to its many stationary clinics, the Dale Foundation’s healthcare system has set up mobile medical centers throughout Dole’s spheres of influence in Ecuador. These units offer general medical care, provide medications and perform preventative check-ups for workers, their families and their communities. In 2009 alone, over 61,000 patients attended the mobile clinics.
For information on healthcare in other countries, see our case study, “Mobile Medical Units.”
That same year, the Dale Foundation expanded the medical services offered by its various health programs, hence boosting healthcare service provision by 25% over the previous year’s figures.
