Carbon-Footprint-Assessment

Data Source and Data Collection

Different forms of data may be obtained to carry out a comprehensive carbon footprint; however, the most commonly used data types are:

  • Primary activity data, which is taken from documents or computer systems (financial accounting) that are directly linked to the specific assessment (i.e. electricity invoices to calculate emissions caused due to electricity).
  • Secondary data includes databases, studies and reports.
  • Assumptions, which are based on internationally recognized standards and studies.
